Spring 2020 Epistle

OFFICER COMMANDING REPORT 78TH FRASER HIGHLANDERS
FORT CALGARY GARRISON
OFFICER COMMANDING REPORT
First, I hope that each of you is staying well. These are undoubtedly interesting times that we are living in. Please take every precaution to stay well and look after those around you to do the same.
It is with sincere regret that I inform you that our social activities and those of our Youth Squad contin-ue to be postponed due to the on-going State of Emergency for the COVID-19 pandemic.
It is unlikely that the restrictions on group gatherings with the State-of-Emergency will be rescinded until mid-July/early August (according to briefings by the federal and provincial governments).
Until the state of emergency restrictions are eased, all in-person activities are postponed indefinitely.
I encourage each of our Garrison members to contin-ue to email, phone, and communicate with each other during this period of self-isolation. We need to reach out to each other and to make a special effort to con-nect with those that we don’t hear from regularly dur-ing this time.
The Command Group recently held its first virtual meeting to discuss a plan for moving forward in a way that is safe and allows the Garrison to continue doing business and meet our commitments. I thank our members of the Garrison who have taken the time to do that.
These are certainly challenging times; I encourage each of you to take all precautions necessary to stay safe, stay healthy, stay fit and stay connected. And when this is all over, we will be ready.
Je suis Prest,
Respectfully,
Major Randy M. Fisher, MBA, CD, A de C
Officer Commanding
78th Fraser Highlanders
Fort Calgary Garrison
